Want to find the best stretch mark treatment?
There are plenty on the market, yet many of them don’t work.
Fading these types of marks on the skin is certainly achievable. They can fade to the point where only you will know they are there.
After two pregnancies, I had stretch marks on my lower stomach area, they were a deep red, purple color.
Fortunately, they did fade over time. Although, I may have rid of them completely, had I caught them in the fist reddish, purplish stage.
When they first appear, anything you rub on them will serve as the best stretch mark treatment.
If you are too late to catch them in the first red, purple stage. You will have to wait for them to fade over time.
Once they pass the coloured stage and turn a white color, they are almost impossible to remove. No matter how much money you spend on creams.
Gaining a lot of weight during pregnancy is a definite cause. During my first pregnancy, I gained over 20 kilo. I was enormous, I ate everything I could get my hands on, and enjoyed every minute of it.
After the birth I not only had stretch marks all over my tummy, I had separated stomach muscles.
My search for the best stretch mark treatment began, and it was on this search I realised there isn’t a permanent fix.

Retin-A cream a form of vitamin A can help stimulate collagen production and exfoliate the skin. This is a very successful way of helping diminish these marks and give you smoother, clearer skin.
However, using Retin A may not have much effect on old stretch marks.
Another popular cream is Lextrin, containing vitamins and essential oils. It can take anywhere between 3 weeks or 3 months before you may or may not notice a difference in the appearance.
Lextrin stretch mark cream is not good for pregnant or nursing mothers.
Lextrin is FDA approved, meaning it is safe and effective. Lextrin cream can cost anywhere up to $70 and advertised as being able to work on a stretch mark which is old.
I have never used this cream, so I can’t give you my opinion. I have read many testimonials on this cream not working.
Despite the fact, it is marketed as the best stretch mark treatment.
Using Lextrin or Retin A cream, you may or may not notice a huge difference. Remember, what works for one, doesn’t necessarily work for another.
A friend of mine used warmed olive oil and rubbed it all over her tummy while she was pregnant. It worked a treat she did not get one single stretch mark.
Vitamin E is apparently very good fo helping fade these marks on the skin.
Causes Of Stretch Marks
The interesting thing about these marks, they are not only caused by the skin stretching to accommodate a pregnancy or weight gain. They are also caused by hormones.
Weight gaining produces hormones metabolized by fat cells.
The abdomen, buttocks, breasts, and thighs are the most common areas of fat and this is usually where stretch marks appear.
Collagen and elastin are two proteins in the skin responsible for its suppleness. When these two proteins are lacking it can cause the inner layer of skin (dermis) to tear.
It is not just women who would love a solution for stretch marks, young boys, girls, and men, who are susceptible to. Young people can get them during a growth spurt.
Gaining weight, losing weight and yo-yo dieting affect hormones, responsible for causing stretch marks.
They are hereditary too, making some people more prone to them than others. Some people are lucky enough to never get stretch marks at all.
Exfoliate Stretch Marks
Exfoliating the surface of your skin is a great way of helping remove any dead skin cells and promote new cell growth.
This will not get rid of them all together. It is a great way of helping the effectiveness of any cream, lotion or oil you are using.
Exfoliating is another one often recommended as the best stretch mark treatment.
Sadly, they don’t only occur at the surface of your skin, they penetrate down into the epidermis (the middle layer of skin). This is why they cannot be removed just by exfoliating the top layer of skin off.
You will be able to help lesson discoloration of the skin, with the help of massage using an effective oil or cream.
Try doing an all over body brush, gently going over any areas with stretch marks in a circular motion. Again, this will not get rid of them, yet may help to soften and fade the marks.

This type of procedure is expensive and often recommended as one of the best stretch mark treatments.
The problem is, microdermabrasion won’t help stretch marks which you have had for a long time and are very deep.
You may find instead of taking 3 months to fix, you need to keep going back for 5 or 6 months.
Laser Treatment For Stretch Marks
This type of treatment is also expensive and not a guarantee. It can certainly help diminish any redness and the depth of the marks. You will not get rid of them completely.
A laser treatment will easily fade them, so they are not noticeable. Don’t be fooled into believing this is the best stretch mark treatment.
Another laser treatment is Pulsed Dye Laser.
Either laser treatment for stretch marks will help the body produce new collagen and might help very old stretch marks.
Vitamins And Herbs For Treating Stretch Marks

Eat plenty of foods containing vitamin E, A and C, include a vitamin C and E supplement as well. This is a particularly good idea if you are pregnant.
I have heard of people using lemon juice, potatoes and egg whites.
I think no matter what you use if your stretch marks are in the early stage, you have a much better chance at getting rid of them.
If you have had them for many years, you will have a much harder time trying to minimise their appearance. Perseverance is the key for the best stretch mark treatment.
